Study: Online TV Viewers Willing To Watch More Ads

Recent studies have shown folks watching TV online have expressed that they're willing to watch more ads. I simply don't believe it. Here's why.

The ads currently served online for TV are just not targeted enough. They're still generic - and with this, people are just being cordial. They're being cordial because online TV is still in it's infancy stage. The minute it gets big, the outcry to lessen advertising will be huge.

Everyone's excited when they get a new toy. This is no exception. However, I'll say that if the ads were targeted to the individual - perhaps on a viewing, demographic or even geographic basis - I'd say that this study could hold up. In that case, the advertising would be highly relevant - if not to go as far as saying useful.

But right now, people are just excited - so they don't mind watching the non-targeted junk that's put in front of them right now.
