Google TV

How's it possible that billion-dollar companies - with tons in cash-reserve - can't conquer the TV world?

Microsoft's tried it and failed. Google's now taking a shot - and some have buried the initiative before it's even started.

Most companies want the coveted living-room, set-top-box, TV model as this brings in one of the most-lucrative advertising segments within their reach. A true no-brainer - that apparently is harder to conquer even for billion-dollar players than can be imagined.

Big TV companies and networks are holding tight - but their models are somewhat stale and old. There's little interactivity, low-end targeting, and high costs. Sooner or later, at very-least the concept of the marriage of web and TV needs to come to fruition.

I'm not sure Google's new TV initiative will succeed on it's own. But then, I bring up an old idea - the power of partnership.

What if Microsoft and Google partnered and worked together to gain this coveted space? Two big players, working together, to make it work? Then, maybe we're talking about a game-changer.
